Within a few days, the euRid name registrar for .eu domains will launch a new domain name registrar. The change will take place on EURid's registration platform. The change will take place on 15 September 2014, and many actions will not be carried out.

The change on 15 September 2014, will make it impossible to carry out actions on all .eu domain names as the register will not be online from 12:30 am on 13 September to 10:30 am on 15 September.

Those days will I be able to take any action?
Any action (pledges, renewals, transfers and any update or change of items) try to do this time will not be possible. After September 15, after the registry is activated again, you will have to repeat your actions.

What changes will this new registration platform bring?
For new registrations to be made on or after September 15, a new regulation will apply to your .eu domain expiration period.
Today a .eu domain name will expire at the end of the month after the end of the registration period. For example, if the vesting date was January 15, 2014 and for 1 year, it will expire on January 31, 2015, ie at the end of the vesting month after one year.
Any new domain names that are pending from September 15 onwards will be renewed or will expire on the vesting date after the vesting period and not at the end of the month, as is the case with .gr or .com domain already.

Example of a one-year .eu domain from September 15, 2014:
Registration Date: October 10, 2014
Expiration date: 10 Οκτωβρίου 2015

What happens to existing .eu domain names?
Registrars are able to apply the new approach or maintain the existing one for registered names before 15 September 2014.
